The thematic exhibition “The Natural Art of Butterfly Wings – Photography by Luk Man Kim” organised by the CCCO was officially launched on 7 Sept. We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests from both the HSUHK community and the public to the opening ceremony, including scholars from other institutions, the team from Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve, as well as other visitors.

Professor Joshua Mok, President of HSUHK, delivered the welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony. He was joined by other officiating guests, including Professor David Tse (Acting Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research)), Professor Jeanne Fu (Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience)), Dr Wong Muk-yan (Director of Common Core Curriculum), as well as the curator Dr Henry So and the collaborating artist Mr. Luk Man Kim for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Dr So also shared his curatorial vision with our guests at the ceremony and led the guided tour.

This exhibition is supported by the University‘s Strategic Development Grant 2025/26 and is one of the key initiatives of the STEAM Lab at HSUHK. It demonstrates how disciplinary boundaries can be transcended, weaving together the rigor of science and the imagination of art to create new perspectives. The exhibition embodies the spirit of the FuturEdge Programme, inspiring students to explore the world from fresh angles.
